Carson McDowell Names Macmillan Their Nominated Charity
01 May 2012
Carson McDowell recently named Macmillan Cancer Support as their nominated charity partner for 2012. The firm is encouraging staff and clients to join them in an array of events and aim to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause.
Launching the partnership, Michael Johnston, Senior Partner said, "We are very happy with this year's chosen charity and will be endeavouring to raise the maximum amount of funds possible. We all know someone who has been touched by cancer and therefore Macmillan seemed an obvious choice". Michael continued, "Whilst this is a serious cause and we hope to raise serious money for the charity - all of which will be deployed in Northern Ireland, - we also hope to have fun and encourage camaraderie throughout the firm . To date this year we have already raised over £5000 which is a great start to our fundraising efforts through events such as a Valentine's Day tea party, a Night at the Races and six intrepid colleagues crossed the Lagan on a Zip Line. Our Charity Committee has lots more events in the pipeline and we are truly excited to be incorporating such activity into our CSR programme.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides support to people that are living with cancer. In NI alone there are 60,000 people living with cancer. Services range from medical, practical, emotional and financial support not only for patients but for the entire family.
Claire Brown, New Business Manager - NI from Macmillan Cancer Support welcomed the support for the new partnership saying, "We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Carson McDowell. I have met with a lot of the team at the Belfast office and I am truly encouraged by their enthusiasm for the events that they have taken part in and future activities they are planning. Their dedication is truly appreciated by all our team at Macmillan
