Carson McDowell has been announced as the winner of the ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ category at the Insider Media Dealmaker Awards 2015.

The awards were presented on Thursday 5th March in front of 200 professionals and businesses gathered at Belfast's Europa Hotel. The event was hosted by Colin Murray to recognise the hard work and talent of the region's corporate finance community over the past 12 months.

Headed by Neasa Quigley and Richard Gray, the corporate team’s highlight deals in 2014 were the sale of the Slieve Rushen Wind Farm to Platina Partners LLP, the acquisition of Cliffe Medical by the Eakin Group and the acquisition of Whale Pumps by Brunswick Corporation.

Neasa Quigley, joint head of the corporate team at Carson McDowell, said: “This award is great recognition for all the hard work done by the firm over the past year.  2014 was a very busy year for our corporate team with Carson McDowell’s solicitors leading playing a pivotal role in some major acquisitions. The first few months of 2015 have been similarly busy and we expect to build on that success in the year ahead.”

Philip Cunliffe, Insider's regional editor, said the signs of continued success in the industry looked positive. "Whenever I speak to any corporate finance professional in the region, they almost always say 'we've never been busier'," he said. "And I believe this can only be good news and that higher deal volumes and values will result in the coming 12 months."
