Admitted as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland in 2000. Education: Graduated with joint honours as a Law and Accountancy graduate from Queen's University Belfast, and obtained his professional qualifications at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies QUB. Before joining Carson McDowell in January 2003, Darren worked in civil practice with MacElhatton & Co Solicitors in Belfast. Appointed as an Associate Solicitor in the Litigation team in May 2007, Darren has extensive experience in General Litigation and particularly in the Commercial Court. Darren is also the solicitor who heads up our Debt Recovery team and regularly attends at the Bankruptcy and Chancery Courts on behalf of creditors. In addition Darren prosecutes in the local courts on behalf of several Public Bodies and Regulatory authorities including Roads Service, Planning Service and Northern Ireland Railways. Darren also provides legal advice to a number of local and UK Insolvency Practitioners particularly those appointed by creditors or the Insolvency Service. Darren became a Partner on 1st May 2010. Darren was an active member of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitor's Committee for several years. In the year 2005-2006 he held the executive role of Membership Secretary and for 2006-2007 he was the Vice Chairman of the Committee. Darren stepped down from the NIYSA Committee on joining the Education Committee of the Law Society of Northern Ireland. |
