Admitted in England and Wales in 2000 and Northern Ireland in 2009.
Education: Graduated with a 2:1 LLB (Hons) from Nottingham Trent University in 1997 and Nottingham Law School in 1998.
Lisa completed her training contract and professional qualifications with Eversheds in Nottingham. She transferred to Eversheds' London office in 2002 where she worked until she joined Carson McDowell in January 2009 as an Associate.
Lisa specialises in both contentious and non-contentious employment law and has advised clients in both the public and private sectors. Lisa has advised clients across a wide range of industries including retail, financial and professional services and media/entertainment.
Lisa has a particular expertise in advising clients on major change projects. Her experience includes advising clients on mass redundancy and reorganisation programmes, varying and harmonising terms and conditions of employment, business transfers, outsourcing and executive appointments and severances. Lisa was an integral member of the team advising the Royal Mail Group on one of the largest collective redundancy programmes ever implemented in the UK. Lisa has also advised international organisations on various aspects of UK HR law.
Lisa has extensive contentious experience. She has advised clients on all aspects employment litigation and has handled both high value and complex litigation and volume low value tribunal claims. She recently successfully defended a claim of sexual orientation discrimination and whistle-blowing against a City financial institution in which the Claimant was seeking a six figure sum. Lisa is an experienced advocate and has conducted substantive tribunal hearings on behalf of clients including Barclaycard, McDonalds and Royal Mail.
Lisa has also undertaken a twelve-month secondment to BSkyB where she gained a valuable insight into the legal and commercial issues facing the business and its executive team.
Lisa presents both bespoke and public training courses on various aspects of employment law. |
