Education: Rachel graduated from Cambridge University in 1996 with a 2:1 and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York with a distinction. Rachel is currently undertaking a part-time LLM in Human Rights law at Queens' University Belfast. Rachel has specialised in employment law since qualification in 2000. She trained and qualified at Linklaters before moving to Eversheds' London office in 2001. Rachel returned to Northern Ireland in 2006, and was a partner in another Belfast law firm, before joining Carson McDowell in November 2009. Rachel's experience straddles both contentious and non-contentious employment law for a wide range and size of clients. Rachel has particular expertise in advising on TUPE and other employment matters in complex mergers, including public sector reorganisations. Rachel also has long experience in defending employers in industrial and fair employment tribunals, and has a particular interest in claims involving discrimination, equality and human rights issues.
