Admitted as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland in 2006

Olivia graduated with a 1^st in Masters of Legal Science from Queens University Belfast and commenced her training with a specialist defence litigation firm in Belfast. Olivia gained experience in all levels of claims and acted on behalf of leading insurers in respect of accidents arising out of public and employer liability cases together with road traffic accidents. 

Olivia then joined the litigation team at John McKee & Son where she continued to act in defence litigation but specialised in banking litigation and insolvency.  At McKee's Olivia represented leading Financial Institutions, medium sized businesses and insurers in Chancery actions; defamation; commercial; insolvency and credit agreement disputes.  Olivia represented a leading Bank in respect of the OFT Test case and its application in this jurisdiction.  She gained extensive experience advising and defending claims arising out of a broad range of commercial and personal disputes on behalf of financial institutions, businessmen, and individuals at County and High Court jurisdiction.

Olivia joined the litigation department of Carson McDowell as an Assistant Solicitor in January 2010 and is specialising in Media and Defamation law acting on behalf of the Independent/Sunday Newspaper Group, which would have the most active portfolio of defence work in the sector.
