​2nd Line IT Support Engineer

We are seeking a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join our expanding team.

This role is split between providing 2nd line IT support services and operational cyber security ownership. The role will involve monitoring and responding to service desk queues as calls are escalated, prioritising work and escalating incidents to team members and vendors when required. Cyber security is a key responsibility of the team with this role maintaining updates and advising and managing threats or vulnerabilities.

Applicants must have good knowledge of Windows 2016/2019 server, Windows 10 clients, MS Office365 Suite, Azure, firewall maintenance and networking. This role will play a leading role in shaping the IT strategy, working closely with team members and third-party suppliers.

In addition to the support function, the role involves assisting the IT team with project work. This ranges from the rollout of new equipment, software and telephony systems. We also have an exciting list of ongoing infrastructure, networking and information security projects.

The role will be based primarily in our Belfast city centre headquarters. We offer flexible working for all our staff and strive to accommodate individual needs.

Legal Compliance Officer

This is a broad and varied role, covering all aspects of compliance and risk related matters as they pertain to a limited liability partnership (LLP). Working alongside the Director of Legal Operations and Compliance, the Managing Partner and the Senior Partner, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that any compliance and professional risks are identified and managed. The role will also include ensuring that the firm is compliant with the regulatory requirements of the Law Society of Northern Ireland and other legislative bodies.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that legal and regulatory risk and compliance issues are identified, monitored and addressed proportionate to the firm’s key business objectives, targeting resources (internal and external) to managing risks that have the potential to expose the firm, clients and employees;
  • Providing input into business and strategic decisions from a compliance perspective;
  • Managing the firm’s risk and incident registers;
  • Undertaking and managing investigations of potential compliance issues;
  • Preparing regular reports to the Risk Committee on risk and compliance issues, identifying developing trends and areas of risk and proposing suitable solutions for mitigating risk;
  • Coordinating the in house file review process;
  • Conducting regular reviews of the firm’s risk and quality compliance policies and procedures and ensure that reviews take place within the appropriate time period;
  • Assisting with ISO and other quality accreditation schemes;
  • Implementing appropriate risk and quality management training programmes for all staff to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements;
  • Working closely with all Departments across the firm, to develop enhanced processes to mitigate risk and delivering training on new and existing policies and procedures;
  • Resolving potential conflicts of interest as between clients or prospective clients;
  • Ensuring compliance with the firm’s onboarding process; and
  • Providing support for tender applications.

We require a qualified solicitor with experience of working in a legal practice environment. Experience in real estate and/or corporate/commercial work would be an advantage. You must have detailed and up to date knowledge of the regulatory framework in Northern Ireland and be process driven. The successful candidate will have the ability to identify, analyse and gauge the impact of legislative and regulatory changes to the firm. Excellent communication skills are essential with the ability to give succinct advice. Strong IT skills are also essential.

Corporate Legal Secretary (Part Time)

This role reports to the Senior Partner and Procurement team and is responsible for supporting the fee earners with daily administrative responsibilities. The role will be part time, 21 hours per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing documentation to include scanning and printing of documents, e-filing and updating of fee earner files.
  • General administration to include Mimecast, diary planning, booking meetings, emails and opening and closing files.
  • Adhering to all manual and electronic filing systems.
  • Dealing with telephone calls and assisting clients.
  • Researching and summarising legal information.
  • Issuing correspondence.
  • Amending large documents.
  • Assisting relevant fee earners in the conduct of files as required.
  • Billing.

Experience:

  • Essential – At least one years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Essential – Must be currently working in a busy legal role or professional services environment.
  • Desirable – Secretarial qualification.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise work and meet target deadlines under time constraints.
  • The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is essential, with the ability to format.
  • Strong communication skills and be able to take direction.
  • Strong precision and accuracy skills.
