Gary McGhee Addresses The 2014 Northern Ireland Environment Forum

Gary McGhee, Partner and Head of the Planning and Environmental Law Team at Carson McDowell, was recently a key speaker at the Northern Ireland Environment Forum, hosted by Agenda NI and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency and sponsored by Carson McDowell.
The event focussed on key issues within the environmental policy area in Northern Ireland and was attended by delegates from varying backgrounds including environmental policy-makers, regulators, planning professionals, elected representatives and others with an active interest in environmental matters.
The theme of this year’s conference was ‘better environment, stronger economy’ and the opening address was given by Mark H Durkan, Minister for the Environment . The Minister used the opportunity to set out his priorities across the broad range of his portfolio of responsibilities.
Gary’s talk focussed on legislative issues regarding planning in Northern Ireland over the last year and he also provided a legal outlook for the coming year.
