As members of the Northern Ireland Safety Group, Carson McDowell would like to encourage you to consider nominating someone from your organisation for the John Gordon Safety Person of the Year Award 2017.

The award is designed to celebrate the individual (not a safety professional) who has made the greatest contribution to health and safety in their workplace.  It aims to honour the 'unsung hero' who goes above and beyond their role in the pursuit of good health and safety. Nominations are open to any employee, at any level within an organisation, who has gone the extra mile and demonstrated superior safety leadership.

The Award entry is open to non Northern Ireland Safety Group members and you can nominate more than one person.  Entries can relate to the handling of a one-off incident or event, or a health and safety related process, project or initiative, or demonstrating good all round health and safety practice. There are no restrictions on who can win (except health & safety professionals) and the winner's organisation gets free membership to Northern Ireland Safety Group for a year.

The good news is the entry form is only 750 words (maximum of 3 questions) and is designed to take less than an hour to fill in. Click on the link here for more information and to access the nomination documents.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any further information.
