20 April 2018
Carson McDowell advised Valero Logistics UK, a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corporation, in relation to the acquisition from DCC Energy of the company owning DCC’s fuel storage terminal in Belfast. Valero Energy is a Fortune 50 company based in San Antonio, Texas. It is an independent petroleum refiner and ethanol producer with approximately 10,000 employees.
Mike Lewis, Valero’s vice president Europe product supply, said: “It was a natural step for us to buy DCC’s terminal. It anchors us in the Northern Ireland market and reinforces our long-term commitment to our customers there. It will give us added flexibility and will ensure we can continue to deliver a competitive and reliable service.” The acquisition is strategically significant, enabling Valero to further strengthen its supply position in Northern Ireland, having two terminals to supply fuel to its Northern Ireland customers for the foreseeable future.
The Carson McDowell team was led by Gerard Armstrong (Corporate), Emma Cooper (Real Estate) and Orlagh O’Neill (Employment).
