Lucy Clarke - Associate
Lucy is a solicitor in the litigation team at Carson McDowell. She is dual qualified in English and Northern Irish law and advises clients in both jurisdictions.
Lucy attained an LLB degree from Nottingham Trent University in England in 2006 and completed her legal practice course in Manchester in 2008. She then trained at specialist litigation firm, Berg Legal, in Manchester and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in March 2011. Upon qualification, Lucy remained at Berg Legal for one more year before joining DAC Beachcroft LLP for three years. Lucy then joined Carson McDowell in March 2015.
Lucy specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution and has particular experience with contractual, financial services / regulatory and intellectual property disputes and insolvency matters. Lucy was recently engaged in a court of appeal claim in England against the Financial Conduct Authority, which saw Lucy attend Sierra Leone to gather evidence and carry out a discovery exercise. Lucy currently works closely with partner Declan Magee.
Lucy was a member of Junior Chamber International in Manchester and has recently joined JCI Belfast after moving to Northern Ireland.
Lucy is ranked in "Associates to watch" by the Chambers and Partners UK Guide 2020. Clients single her out for her "expert assistance on contract disputes."
