Michael Kelly - Solicitor
Michael graduated from the University of Ulster in July 2009 with a First Class Honours Degree in Law with Government and obtained his professional qualification from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 2012. Michael joined Carson McDowell in October 2014 from another Belfast firm where he had trained and practiced in the Banking, Restructuring and Insolvency team for 5 years.
Michael advises a wide range of banks, borrowers and financial institutions in relation to all aspects of non-contentious banking and restructuring, including acquisition finance, general corporate lending, multi-jurisdictional transactions and distressed loan portfolio sales.
In respect of his insolvency practice, Michael has considerable experience advising Banks on enforcement strategies pre-insolvency and acting for Fixed Charge Receivers and Administrators in relation to asset realisations.
Michael also spent 2 years working part time on secondment to a leading NI Bank providing in-house legal advice on a wide range of matters.
