Sam Francey

Sam is a Solicitor in the Healthcare team at Carson McDowell. He is qualified to act in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Sam takes a pro-active approach in assessing not only individual claim progression, but also analysis of working practices to develop new, efficient, progressive tactics and strategies to reduce both risk and cost.

Sam graduated with a LLB (Hons) from the University of Dundee, Scotland in 2015 and obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Studies in 2018. Sam was admitted as a solicitor in Northern Ireland in 2018 and worked at another Commercial law firm where he specialised in defence insurance litigation, primarily handling high value, catastrophic personal injury claims on behalf of major UK and EU insurance companies.

Sam joined Carson McDowell’s Healthcare team in Dublin in October 2020 and was admitted as a Solicitor in the Republic of Ireland in December 2020. Sam acts exclusively on behalf of medical defence organisations and insurers, representing the interests of medical practitioners in defending a broad spectrum of high value, complex clinical negligence, dental and data protection claims, with a special interest in class action claims.
